Junkers Ju-52 / 3m is a passenger and transport aircraft, developed in the company Junkers in 1932. Its creation was a result of the gradual development of the first all-metal monoplane J 1, designed by Professor Hugo Junkers in 1915. The first variant of the new machine was developed in the 1930s r. engined Junkers Ju 52, carrying 15 passengers. The following year, work began on replacing the failed enormous engine Junkers L 88 with three smaller engines stellar Pratt & Whitney Hornet. The prototype version of the Ju 52 / 3m (3 Motoren = three motors) was flown in March 1932., And the aircraft of this version were delivered to Lufthansa and the airline in Sweden, Finland and Bolivia. Like his predecessors, the Ju 52 / 3m was typical for Fokker full metal construction with a working coated corrugated aluminum alloy and was patented by Junkers "double-wing", which flaps and ailerons separated from the trailing edge along the entire span of the airfoil. In Germany, the new aircraft soon gained the nickname "Tante Ju" (Aunt Ju).
