Cadillac

Cadillac is one of the oldest automobile brands in the world, following just behind GM’s Buick brand. Cadillac was formed from what was left of the Henry Ford Company in 1902 – almost a full nine years before the name ‘Chevrolet’ ever appeared.  The Cadillac brand is named after Antoine Laumet de La Mothe, sieur de Cadillac, the founder of the city of Detroit in 1701. The Cadillac logo is based on his coat of arms.Cadillac’s first vehicles were two-seat horseless carriages powered by a 10 hp single-cylinder engine, called the Runabout and Tonneau, which were first available in October of 1902. From the beginning, Cadillac’s mission was to focus on precision engineering and luxurious style.
